Prestige Omega Select Plus Concave Tawa 280mm | Non-Stick Induction Tawa | Nikshan Electronics

The Prestige Omega Select Plus 280mm Tawa is a practical non-stick concave tawa designed for everyday Indian cooking on conventional gas stoves. Prestige manufactures this exact SKU 30713 from aluminium and equips it with an improved PFOA-free non-stick coating designed for strong release performance and better resistance to scratches and abrasion. Its 28 cm cooking diameter provides useful room for rotis, chapatis, parathas and other flatbreads, while the concave profile supports traditional tawa-style cooking. Customers comparing other cookware options can also browse Nikshan Electronics’ Pathiri & Tawa collection and wider cookware catalogue.

Prestige Omega Select Plus 280mm Tawa

Prestige identifies model 30713 as the Omega Select Plus Concave Tawa – 280mm, making the model and size easy to verify across current Prestige catalogues.

The 28 cm size provides a broad cooking surface suitable for common household flatbreads and shallow-cooking tasks.

Unlike a flat dosa tawa, the concave profile is shaped more toward roti and chapati preparation, helping position dough breads toward the centre of the cooking surface.

The cookware should be preheated gradually rather than exposed immediately to extreme heat, particularly because continuous high heat can shorten the life of a non-stick surface.

Customers can compare other Prestige tawas at Nikshan Electronics before choosing between concave, omni, dosa and granite-coated options.

PFOA-Free Non-Stick Coating

Prestige officially describes the Omega Select Plus coating as PFOA free and engineered for superior non-stick release performance.

A good non-stick surface reduces food sticking during routine cooking and allows many dishes to be prepared with relatively modest amounts of added oil.

Prestige also highlights extreme scratch and abrasion resistance for this range.

Although current exact-model retail information describes the coating as metal-spoon friendly, non-stick cookware generally lasts longer when sharp edges, aggressive scraping and abrasive cleaning pads are avoided.

Wooden, silicone or smooth-edged utensils remain sensible choices for extending coating life.

Aluminium Body

Prestige specifies the base cookware material as aluminium.

Aluminium heats relatively quickly and distributes heat efficiently across the cooking surface, which suits routine tawa cooking where responsive temperature control is useful.

The lightweight metal construction also makes a 28 cm tawa easier to lift and handle than many heavier multi-ply alternatives.

The exact aluminium alloy and gauge are not published on Prestige’s current product page, so claims about specific alloy grades should not be added unless the carton provides them.

Gas Stove Compatible, Non-Induction Base

One of the most important corrections for this product is cooktop compatibility.

Prestige officially lists Base: Non Induction for SKU 30713.

This means the exact Prestige Omega Select Plus 280mm Concave Tawa should be marketed as a gas-stove tawa, not as an induction-compatible product.

Customers who specifically require induction cookware should select a different Prestige series designed with an induction-compatible base.

Nikshan Electronics also lists alternative Prestige cookware, including Prestige Omega Deluxe induction-compatible tawas, for customers who need dual cooktop compatibility.

Scratch and Abrasion Resistance

Prestige highlights extreme scratch and abrasion resistance coating as one of the central benefits of the Omega Select Plus series.

This is intended to improve durability during normal household cooking and cleaning.

However, scratch resistance should not be interpreted as complete immunity from damage.

Steel wool, knives, aggressive metal scraping and abrasive cleaners should still be avoided because they can damage or shorten the life of any non-stick cooking surface.

Prestige specifically recommends cleaning cooled cookware with warm soapy water and a cloth or sponge.

Sturdy Handle for Everyday Use

Prestige’s official exact-model listing confirms a sturdy handle.

The current specification does not identify the handle itself as metal, so the supplied “Handle Material: Metal” should not be published without carton confirmation.

The handle should always be positioned away from neighbouring burners and direct gas flames.

Users should also periodically check that handle hardware remains secure, especially on cookware used daily.

Proper Non-Stick Care

Prestige recommends washing the tawa in warm soapy water before first use.

For non-stick cookware, Prestige also advises seasoning the cooking surface before first use by gently warming it, removing it from the heat and applying a small amount of vegetable oil.

High heat should be avoided where unnecessary, and the burner should be appropriately sized so flame remains beneath the cookware instead of rising around the side.

The tawa should cool before washing.

A soft sponge or cloth is preferable to steel wool or scouring powder.

Compact 28 cm Cooking Surface

The official tawa dimensions are approximately 27.9 × 27.9 × 3.5 cm.

This is significantly more realistic than the supplied 58.5 × 44 × 19.5 cm figure, which appears to come from unrelated packaging or marketplace data.

The official package dimensions are 43 × 28.5 × 4.5 cm.

Its compact profile makes storage relatively easy in standard cookware cabinets or pan racks.
